Match Day 1

Well when I woke up this morning at 9:00 a.m. I wasnt sure what was going on. There was this strange noise outside – I opened the balcony door to find the streets already packed with people blowing their vuvuzela horns and walking the streets. All the streets within three miles of the stadium are already closed and there are five or six large navy boats patrolling the shore line. The atmosphere is at a level I never thought possible and the crowds around the giant TVs that are all around the streets to show other games are getting more ready as the South African team is set to kick off its first game in a few hours. The Uruguay team bus rolled by just a little while ago to a giant round of applause and there is nothing but pure joy and happiness in town. We are headed down to the stadium soon to mingle and buy some stuff. It's amazing the bartering you can do if you dont want to spend alot of money. I will try and post again tonight after the game, which I predict will be a 3 nil Uruguay win.
